Step back in time and experience the events of April 19, 1775, through the eyes of those who lived them.This engaging 45-minute living history program begins in the present day before transporting audiences to 1812, where participants reflect in the first person on the momentous day the American Revolution began. Featured presenters portray three historical witnesses: the Rev. Edmund Foster of Reading, who took part in the battle; Joseph Mason, a fifer with the Lincoln Minute Men; and Mary Hartwell, who observed the events unfolding from her home along the Battle Road.
Through vivid storytelling and authentic character portrayals, audiences will gain a personal perspective on the dramatic opening of the Revolutionary War. The program concludes by returning to the present for an interactive question-and-answer session, offering attendees the opportunity to delve deeper into this pivotal moment in American history.
Program will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, March 12 at Aldersgate Church, 235 Park Street, North Reading. Free and open to the public. All are welcome.
