To mark America’s 250th anniversary, we invite you to learn how to effectively document family and community stories—preserving the memories and traditions that shape our national heritage through oral history.This workshop is designed to help you effectively interview loved ones and record their insights for future generations.

The workshop will cover topics such as project planning, interviewing techniques, recording setup and equipment, and tips for preserving oral histories. After completing the workshop, attendees will have access to the Heritage Center’s oral history equipment, professional videographer, interviewer, and video editing support.
This America 250 project encourages families, especially younger generations, to engage with their elders and discover the experiences that shaped their identities.
