Lot Projects welcomes all aspiring fabric fixers for a day of mending, discussions and coming together over textile scraps and a cup of tea!
About this Event

AMENDS at Lot Projects is a textiles workshop for people of all skill levels; whether you've never picked up a needle and thread, need help with a button, have an ambitious idea for using scraps or are an expert sewist, all are welcome to drop in and chat over a cup of tea with fellow aspiring fabric fixers.

We’ve got all the kit you need from sewing machines to suggestions to materials, so bring your projects that need some TLC and leave with some ideas for reducing textile waste, one stitch at a time. If you don’t have a project on the go, pop by to socialise or practice some sewing skills on our scraps, sourced from Yodomo and F#!% Fast Fashion.

Hot drinks will be provided, donations will be appreciated!

This is a free or Pay what you can event if you feel like you can make a contribution, no matter how small. Donations can be made at the door.

This event is in two parts; come for one or stay for both.

From 10.30am–1pm: Drop-in textile mending

Bring your damaged textiles for mending support from our team. We’ll sit down with you and give you the skills and materials you need to bring your textile back to life.

From 1pm–3pm: Workshop on mending/decorating with sashiko

Sashiko is a Japanese technique that uses running stitches in geometric patterns to reinforce or repair a worn area. It works well with holes, patches, or as a decorative element. We’ll demonstrate the technique and show different patterns you can take forward. Bring something to practice on or we’ll have samples to practice on and take your skills home with you.
