Welcome to another Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge We did this a few years ago raising funds for various Queens div benevolent funds and a few cancer organisations prior to that. Ambush Veteran Adventures are now looking to return to raise vital funds to help sustain all the activity's projects and events that we organise based out of Browndown military training area at Lee on Solent.
We will Rv early on the friday at Browndown sort and pack any kit required. Then make our way up to a campsite near one of the start points. Scoff admin heads down ready for an early departure Saturday morning onto the dales 24.5 miles in 12hrs. Finish early evening kit away ready for tea(beers) and medals. And some scoff. Heads down early rise on the sunday for the drive home.
We will be looking for a support crew to meet the guys at various check points for kit changes and scoff etc Pop the odd blister. If your intrested in that DM me
The three peaks of the Yorkshire are arranged in a triangle, with the River Ribble and two minor B roads between them.
The total walking distance is 39.2km (24.5 miles).
The Yorkshire Three Peaks includes, Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
The route can be started from Horton-in-Ribblesdale, Ribblehead or Chapel le Dale, and is a circular route finishing at the same point.
Ordnance Survey Explorer OL2 Map is required for the complete route.
Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge Start Points
There are three possible start points for the Yorkshire Three Peaks, and you can walk in either direction - clockwise or anti-clockwise.
The postcodes for these start points are:
Horton-in-Ribblesdale — BD24 0HE (lots of parking, £4 for the day, very busy at weekends)
Ribblehead — LA6 3AS (some free parking)
Chapel le Dale — LA6 3AR (limited free parking, usually quiet)
Yorkshire Three Peaks Route
Markers show the start/finish point and the two refreshment points on our Open Yorkshire Three Peaks events.
We will have a support wagon at close proximity for admin and pick ups near to the route if needed.
