We've been before and Going again looking to gear up a team to take on the mighty cateran yomp June 2026 raising funds for the ARMY BENEVOLENT FUND (THE ABF)The Cateran Yomp is the biggest, toughest event of its kind. Every year, hundreds of Yompers gather in the Scottish wilderness to battle through the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains, walking All food and drink across the route. Campsite access. A goodie bag, technical t-shirt and that all-important medal. Plus training tips and fundraising support, including setting up your online fundraising page.
Bragging rights? They come for free.
Mind you, so do blisters – that’s why we set up a Facebook page for Yompers to swap advice and info every year.

Brian from Accounts may never forgive you, but that’s a story for another day. With three routes to choose from, the Yomp isn’t out of reach.

Mates first
The Yomp is a team event. You'll have the best time if you're in a team. But if you don’t have a team, it’s no biggie – we’ll set you off with other lone wolves for you to buddy up. Of course, if you see someone Yomping on their own, say hello.
You must be 16 to take part in the Yomp. Upper age limits? Not on our watch. If you’re fit enough to take on the Yomp, there’s a place for you in Perthshire.

GOLD DISTINCTION AWARD
Serving soldiers who complete the full 54 mile route in teams of four or more, in less than 24 hours, earn the exclusive Gold Distinction Award.
AFTER all that info why wouldn't you want to take on the yomp.
we will organise as a team take care of all the registration and collect in the fees costs to be confirmed. early bird entry needs to be in by 30th November 25 or the price goes up slightly.
The battle bus will be the support vehicle and the option of 2nd and 3rd vehicles will be in hand depending on how many join us.
we will leave from Browndown early friday morning and head up to blairegowrie hoping to arrive early evening get briefed scoff and set up tents etc we may even send an advance party to get started set up bell tents and camp cots etc depending on size of the team .
