Functional Group Training Outline
- Also known as one-on-one training restructured to complement group settings, functional group training provides a variety of functional strength movements that can prepare the body for everyday living activities.
Introduction
- Timothy Corner, Certified Personal Trainer, Licensed Massage Therapist, Innovation Major, UCCS Wellness Manager/UCCS wellness committee
Warm-up (15-20 minutes)
- LPHC Hip Tilt (front to back / back to front)
- Plank w/ shoulder tap (Challenge yourself w/Plank reach)
- Hollow Hold
- Hollow alternating limb raise.
Build to Perform (30 minutes)
- Four-count top/ bottom side lying leg rotation.
- Forward Lunge, Back Lunge, Curtsey Lunge, Combo / Descending Squat Pyramid
Cool down (10 minutes)
- Stretch Variation
- Circumduction cat/cow (c-spine l-spine fluid circular motion)
- Kneeling under reach stretch (shoulders, lats, mid-back)
- Kneeling hip flexor stretch.
- Reverse Butterfly
