Amarillo High graduate Hayden Brillhart is a four-time national qualifier, national semifinalist, and UIL 5A State Champion in Student Congressional Debate. He also earned Outstanding Presiding Officer honors at the UIL State meet for two consecutive years, and legislation he authored was selected for the national semifinals last year.
Over his four years in speech and debate, Hayden developed a strong understanding of how government operates, along with skills in advocacy, policymaking, and legislative leadership.
Hayden will be speaking about his experience researching, creating, and debating legislation.
Learn how this top debater moved beyond the classroom to draft bills, craft sponsorship speeches, and refute opponents on the way to a state championship at the Texas State Capitol.
On top of all that we will ALSO be hearing from AISD Speech and debate coach Mellessa Denny! She will be sharing with us her role and passion in turning young students into knowledgeable and active political citizens.
AND....Just for fun we will be including a third SURPRISE HISTORICAL guest! We don't want to spoil it but we will give you a HINT: Her husband may or may not have had wooden teeth!
