About this Event
We invite you to join us at Studio KIND. for a restful evening of nature-connected performance, elemental meditation and woodland inspired canapés.
Amanita Grove presents a wonderful journey through the woods, uncovering the secrets of trees and hidden life within the forest through sound, storytelling and spoken word. Weaving an intricate path beneath the canopy, Amanita Grove reveals insights into the (super)natural world, guiding the audience through seasonal changes, life cycles, the Chinese Five Elements and folklore.
is principally a Latin, Folk and Neo-Soul duo (Cheryl Silvawood and Jules Moberly) based in Hartland, North Devon, bringing soulful vocals, Spanish guitar, loops and lo-fi rhythms. Their original music and reimagined covers hold space for nature, truth and courage. With Cheryl’s background in nature conservation and as an ancient & veteran tree specialist, coupled with Jules’ extensive experience as a woodsman, they look to spread their #musicmycelium, bringing people of similar frequencies together with the love of music and connection to nature.
For this project - Deep Beneath The Canopy - Amanita Grove performs as a trio, with Cheryl on vocals, spoken word, percussion and drone flute; Jules on Spanish guitar and loops; and reputed multi-instrumentalist Dave Smale on double bass and Japanese koto.
This trio performance debuted successfully this year at Fringe Theatrefest in Barnstaple, with some wonderful feedback from audiences:

"So amazing I came back a second time!"
"What an amazing soundscape! Poignant song/words, uplifting and peaceful"

Doors open at 6:15pm
6:30pm: Prior to the Deep Beneath The Canopy performance, we are pleased to present Yoga and Mindfulness teacher , who will first guide attendees through an elemental meditation practice. This session will last 30 mins, and can be taken seated or lying down - no special clothes or equipment are required.
In yoga, there's an understanding that we're connected to the natural world. One way this is expressed is via the concept of the 'Pancha Maha Bhutas' - the five great elements of earth, water, fire, air and ether or space, which are believed to make up everything in the natural world, including ourselves.
In this mindful session, Hannah invites you to pause and explore this deep and ancient connection - recognising that we’re not separate from the world around us - we are nature. The session will include an introduction to the qualities of the Pancha Maha Bhutas, and a guided elemental meditation inviting you to ground, soften, and reconnect with the rhythms of the natural world.
7pm: BREAK (with woodland inspired canapés); bring your own drinks (BYOB).
7:25pm: Deep Beneath The Canopy Performance
8:15pm: END
