As part of Columbia Operatic Laboratory’s season-long partnership Amahl and The Night Visitors will be performed at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church which is located at 1300 Pine StColumbia, SC 29204 on December 13th, 7:00 PM.
Inspired by Hieronymus Bosch’s The Adoration of the Magi and traditional Italian folktales about the Nativity, Gian Carlo Menotti’s one-act opera is a delightful adaptation of the story of the Three Kings from the perspective of a young disabled boy named Amahl who lives outsides of Bethlehem with his widowed mother. This opera is appropriate for all ages and is sung entirely in English.
Admission is $10 at the door with no reservations required.
