Spend an afternoon creating purely for the joy of making! Join Maria DeAngelo as she guides you through the art of transforming vintage book pages using mixed‑media layering techniques. This workshop is all about exploration, play, and discovering how unexpected materials can come together to create expressive, textured artwork. Working with old book pages as your foundation, you’ll experiment with collage elements, paint, drawing materials, stencils, and more to build rich, layered compositions. Maria will demonstrate a variety of approaches and offer plenty of support as you develop your own visual language on the page.
Whether you’re new to mixed media or looking to loosen up your creative process, this workshop offers a relaxed, inspiring space to try new techniques and follow your curiosity. Supplies are not included in the class fee. A PDF supply list is available in the workshop description.

Our courses are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
