Join Casa de Ritual owner, Yvonne and guest teacher Erin Eggenburg for this special hands-on making workshop where you'll learn about setting up an altar, creating rituals, and the symbolisms and elements associated with this magical practice.
You'll design an altar cloth tailored to your personal style with crafter and educator Erin Eggenburg of Wren Bird Mends. Erin will teach you to embroider several kinds of stitches and how to incorporate appliqué into your designs. There will be beads, sequins, fabric scraps and embroidery threads to customize each altar cloth.
Sips, snacks will be provided. Space is limited.
About Erin: Erin Eggenburg is a devoted crafter and educator with a heart for fostering creativity and sustainability through textile art. She is the founder of an online mending and embroidery shop, wrenbirdarts, and author of The Mending Directory. Erin’s ongoing projects and inspiration are showcased on Instagram @wrenbirdmends. Erin's classes are a gateway to learning an appreciation for hand-crafting, empowering students to create and mend with confidence and creativity.
About Make & Mary & Casa de Ritual: We are Latinas, artists and herbalists. Since 2016 we've been holding space for making and gathering. Our brick & mortar is located in the Alberta Arts district where we create our own line of plant-based, organic botanicals for body, bath and soul. Founder, Yvonne Perez Emerson is an Earth sister, energy weaver, ceremonial designer, maker, dreamer, mother and grandmother. Practicing herbalism, energy weaving and intuitive readings through traditional indigenous folk ways.
