Presented by Trainscendence & Rolling Stock, who both front onto 'Rolling Stock Lane,'
a Sunday sesh to bring some life to our magical little laneway.
Feat. excellent musicians connected to both acclaimed recording studio Rolling Stock,
and new creative members hub Trainscendence - we'll be groovin in the alley from
the early afternoon right through the sunset. Various delicious drinks, food truck,
and crafty stalls from local makers, as well as the world-class tunes.
Thrilled to announce our first artist ZEDSIX, a six-piece outfit who reimagine the golden
eras of jazz and hip hop. Re-working and remixing classic American and African jazz standards
through a new lens, they create the sound of the future. The ideal sound for a Sunday alley
session, we can't wait to receive their intersection of boom bap and be bop.
Led by ZEDSIX aka Zvi Belling, producer, composer and bass player from Johannesburg, South Africa,
ZEDSIX’s full length debut album ‘The Shape of Jazz’ was nominated for Best Jazz Album in the Music
Victoria Awards and is currently a shortlisted nomination in the Bells Australian Jazz Awards. Zvi Belling
is also the founder, director and bass player for the Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, the ARIA nominated
Afrobeat ensemble. He has performed around the globe with music legends such as Gregory Porter,
Johnny Clegg, Chet Faker, Femi Kuti, Hugh Masekela and Egypt 80, to name just a few.
