Allen’s African Americans discuss their history at libraryAs part of Allen’s 150th celebration, a panel of African Americans raised in Allen during the 1960s, 70s, and 80s will share their experiences at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 23, at the Allen Public Library.
This group will reminisce about life in Allen when it was transitioning from a rural to an urban environment. Topics will include their education, employment, people who influenced their lives, what they did for entertainment, employment, heroes, challenges, their legacy and more.
