Multi-platinum Maryland quartet All Time Low - Alex Gaskarth, Jack Barakat, Rian Dawson and Zack Merrick — known for their anthemic, inimitable sound and fiercely loyal fanbase, embark on a bold new era with the release of “SUCKERPUNCH,” out now via their own imprint, Basement Noise Records, in partnership with Photo Finish Records/Virgin Music Group. The group will head out on tour this fall for a just-announced nationwide headline run. Their EVERYONE'S TALKING! TOUR will stop by Cincinnati, OH at The Andrew J Brady Music Center® with support from special guests Mayday Parade, Four Year Strong, and The Paradox.
Sonically all arena-rock bombast and lyrically sentimental, “SUCKERPUNCH” — coproduced by frontman Gaskarth alongside Dan Swank — signals a thrilling new chapter for the rock outfit, who have sold more than 3.5 million albums in the U.S. alone and have garnered over 5 billion streams worldwide to date.
“‘SUCKERPUNCH’ is a song about getting knocked down so many times that you learn to wear your bruises like badges,” Gaskarth says. “The music and tone of the song are so intentionally steeped in overconfident swagger, while the lyrics tell a very different story about stepping into the ring with an opponent twice your size, waiting for the bell to ring with a smile on your face. It’s saying 'I have been so many different things for you, why not be your punching bag as well?' I wanted to marry the grit and punch of an arena rock song with moments of Quincy Jones and Genesis… That culminated in a song that felt like kicking the door down, so we knew this had to come out first.”
All Time Low have additionally released the official music video for “SUCKERPUNCH” which, like the song itself, is both electrifying and sentimental. The video made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Biggest Pop and on the Paramount Times Square billboards today and centers on “Axel,” a legendary stuntman who looks back at the most death-defying stunt of his career. It’s been a momentous era for All Time Low: in addition to working on new music, the band celebrated its 20th anniversary last year with the release of The Forever Sessions Vol. 1 album via their own imprint - Basement Noise Records - launched in partnership with Photo Finish Records/Virgin Music Group. The new LP featured re-recordings of the band’s greatest hits from the early part of their career including “Dear Maria, Count Me In (ATL’s Version).”
Since their inception in 2003, All Time Low have shattered records, topped charts, sold out arenas and carved out a fervent fanbase along the way. Their catalog consists of five consecutive Top 10 albums on the Billboard Top 200 in addition to picking up multi-platinum, platinum, and gold certifications. Speaking to their impact, Rolling Stone named So Wrong, It’s Right, among its “50 Greatest Pop Punk Albums.” In 2020, they ascended to a new commercial and critical high watermark with their eighth full-length LP, Wake Up, Sunshine. Following a #1 debut on the Top Rock Albums chart, it spawned the biggest hit of the band’s career thus far, “Monsters” [feat. blackbear]. It clinched #1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay Chart for an unprecedented 18 weeks, emerging as the longest-charting song ever at the Modern Rock format. In addition to going platinum, it notably garnered “Alternative Rock Song of the Year” at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards, while superstar Demi Lovato teamed up with the group for the Official Remix.
The band also captivated audiences with explosive sets at Bonnaroo and Firefly, along with unforgettable appearances on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ellen, Good Morning America, and more.
