About this Event
We celebrate the summer solstice on Saturday, 20th June arrivng 9.45pm -ending on Sunday morning. Details on website.
THE SUMMER SOLSTICE is the longest day and shortest night in the Northern Hemisphere and is time of fullness, joy and celebration.
The actual moment of the solstice will occur at 9.24am. on 21st June
The puja is an opportunity to drop into ourselves and to surrender to the guidance of our inner wisdom, to rest and perhaps enter a lucid dreaming state. This evening will start with setting intention before settling down for the night after an opening ceremony at around 10.15pm. Mats, bolsters, blankets and cushions will be provided but if you have a camping mattress or anything similar, it may be an idea to bring it to provide extra padding.
The gong bath finishes at 6.00am on Sunday, 21st. We then have a period of silence when we become acutely aware of stillness both outside and within. We gather around the fire for a short time. A cooked breakfast is provided after this and you will leave fully restored and refreshed and brimming with vim! We are restricting the numbers to 16.
It is preferable if you can book on Studio Britford to avoid the booking fee and to get more information via the newsletter.
WHAT IS A GONG PUJA?
According to grand gong master Don Conreaux, Tim and my teacher, a Gong Puja is a devotional ritual which honours and allows space for participants to heal in mind, body and spirit. Typically, it lasts the duration of 10 sessions of 45 minute gong baths, which is 7.5 hours. The gong, in itself, facilitates self-healing. It helps us get into a place of divine connection.
