The goal of Circling is for a group of people to see the world through each other's eyes, and for you to see the world through other people’s eyes. We flourish under the influence of caring, curious, and non-judgmental attention – and so does the connection between us.
The heart of circling is exploring the space that is created by two or more people interacting with one another. We each arrive with our collection of experiences, expectations, needs, and wants. How these intersect can be magical, disastrous, or mundane.
It happened again: the person in the circle talked for maybe 30 seconds, and then clammed up. The other participants asked for more, but the speaker looked down and said, “I’m worried about taking up too much space.” At this session, we’re going to challenge the forces that make us imagine small is better, everyone’s speaking time must be equal, and that surely no one would want to hear me speak for that long. Prepare to feel larger in heart and spirit!
