About this Event

Join us at University College Dublin on 4th June for the first All-Island Educational Neuroscience (AIEN) Research Day aimed at researchers, teachers, policy makers and parents which will explore the role of educational neuroscience in the classroom. Researchers at University College Dublin and Queen’s University Belfast will be co-hosting the All-island Educational Neuroscience Research Day where researchers and practitioners will present research findings, share ideas and form new collaborations. There will be key talks from international experts in this field as well as a panel event. Findings from our current project on mind-wandering in the classroom will also be discussed. See schedule below!

The AIEN project is proud to be a collective endeavour, featuring contributions from researchers from the Schools of Psychology and Schools of Education at University College Dublin (UCD) and Queen's University Belfast (QUB) (Olivia Wynne, Maisie Flynn, Assoc Prof Michelle Downes, Dr Joyce Senior, Prof Teresa McCormack, Dr Agnieszka Graham, Dr John McMullen). Our collaborative network extends to dedicated policy makers and practitioners (Patricia Davison, Educational Authority Northern Ireland; Thomas Maloney, Teaching Council Ireland; Máirín Ní Chéileachair; Irish National Teachers Organisation) as well as parent and teacher representatives (Celine Mackessy and Joelle Hendrick), each bringing valuable perspectives to the table.

We are planning to showcase digital posters of current research at our event, if you would like to share your own research on the day please email Olivia at [email protected]

This event is funded by an Irish Research Council New Foundations Grant in partnership with
the Department of the Taoiseach as part of the Shared Island initiative.
