About this Event
Have you loved on yourself enough lately? All About Love: An Olivia Dean Flow is a beginner-friendly yoga flow, led by award-winning author and certified yogi Arriel Vinson, that will open our hearts, hips, and minds through various poses. With Olivia Dean’s music as a guide, this flow will remind us that when in need of love, we can draw close first.
We’ll start with writing our own affirmation card, before centering, warming up, and moving into a gentle sequence. We’ll spend the last 10 minutes in a guided meditation–one that reminds us to love ourselves, love others, and rely on that love as we move through our daily lives.
Each ticket includes a copy of All About Love by bell hooks. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Project Loudmouth, a 501(c)(3) that brings diverse authors/illustrators to Title I schools.
Please bring your mat, props will be provided by the Heartland Mindfulness Collective.
About the facilitator:
Arriel Vinson started taking her yoga practice seriously in 2021 to counteract her stressful work life. What she discovered was a clearer mind, a desire to deepen her practice, and a calling to make more space for Black practitioners. As a CYT-200, certified by Cityoga in Indianapolis, Arriel hopes to show students that yoga is more than a fitness practice: meditation, breathwork, and asanas create a path toward understanding ourselves, and the world, better. They’re tools for liberation, resistance, and community building. An author by profession, Arriel incorporates journaling and affirmations into her classes to emphasize the constant need for loving ourselves and finding compassion in a society that often encourages the opposite. She is honored to guide you in whatever your yoga practice may reveal.
