When you start with yoga, you are just happy you understand where to put which part of your body.
All poses are designed to open, stretch, strengthen, and lengthen your body.
But the body is smart, and when it doesn't have space, it modifies itself - but then, you don't work on the designated areas.
This workshop of senior teacher Leah Kline will guide you into alignment.
If you want to know more about yoga and the alignment in poses, I would really invite you to come and explore! She will teach every quarter with another focus and other poses, so that eventually you learn to align your body in almost all common poses.
Leah Kline is a certified Anusara Hatha Yoga teacher offering a series of workshops exploring the alignment principles of Anusara Yoga.
Anusara Hatha Yoga is a methodology that helps practitioners align with their highest expression mentally, physically, and spiritually. Through conscious practice, students learn to work with the body's natural blueprint of energy, spirals, and loops to move with greater stability, safety, and freedom.
At the heart of this method are the Universal Principles of Alignment, which combine classical Hatha yoga with biomechanical awareness to support joint stability, muscular engagement, and balanced energy flow.
In this workshop series, Leah will explore the Loops within the Muscular Energy principle—subtle actions that support the spine, stabilize the joints, and create vertical alignment throughout the body. Each workshop will offer practical tools students can apply both on and off the mat.
Students can expect a basic introduction of each loop and body parts affected, hands on exploration, application of the loops in common poses and a one hour asana practice. Question and Answer session.

Thigh Loop & Pelvic Loop
Support the pelvis and create stability in the hips and lower back.

Kidney Loop
Lift and support the lower back and core for greater strength and ease.

Shoulder Loop
Open the chest while stabilizing the shoulders and upper back.

Skull Loop
Refine head and neck alignment for balance and ease in the spine.
