About this Event
From an early age, Alexa Jenson was picking out songs on her acoustic guitar in her bedroom. Starting out in open mics, she carved out a space for herself in the Charlotte arts scene. Now, after selling out the clubs she came up in, she’s ready to take on the world.
Armed with a heart full of basement pop sensibility, Alexa brings a unique voice to the indie scene; something that feels wholly influenced by the pitfalls of growing up in an increasingly unforgiving world, but with a fiery spirit that won’t quit. From quieter songs like “Fool in Love” that dissect the discomforts of admiration from afar, to the charged up songs like “Daylight” that exemplify feminine rage.
This modern world is here to stay, and we should all be thankful that Alexa Jenson is here to say what we’re all thinking.

Joe McGovern
Joe McGovern was born in the mountains of New York in the late 90’s. He moved to North Carolina in 2008 where he currently resides. Throughout grade school he found himself in sports and theatre; performing in many middle and high school productions. The year was 2013, and Joe found a new band from Columbus, OH that had changed his view of life forever. He then decided to start learning how to play piano, ukulele, and enter into the choir classes in his high school while attempting to create his own music. That lead him to being accepted on scholarship to go to UNC Charlotte to study vocal performance. There he discovered the beauty of music theory, opera, and collegiate level choirs while still crafting his sound and playing in multiple bands. After leaving the university, Joe decided to start fresh with a new project under his own name. This was important in establishing a new wave of truth and vulnerability in his music. He released his debut EP ‘Grayscale Clarity’ in 2021 and started playing shows throughout the Carolinas. His debut album ‘Dancing on the Decks’ is a culmination of Joe’s past and present issues and the shedding of new life through growth and progression.

Sam Brasko
Originally from the Catskills of upstate New York, Sam Brasko now finds himself carving out his own piece of the Queen City of Charlotte, NC. With a combination of uniquely traditional blues guitar and biting lyrics, Brasko has given us a fresh perspective on what it feels like to be lost, confused, but strangely hopeful.
Releasing his debut EP Ghost in the Window in November of 2021, Brasko officially threw his hat in the musical ring. "If you’re a fan of those classic Creedence or country feels, you’ll enjoy Ghost in the Window, as Sam Brasko has channeled that raw, immediate feel onto the record. If you’re a fan of good songwriting, you’ll enjoy Ghost in the Window, too, as there are three gems here. Sam Brasko, please keep writing and recording–we need more of this!" (J.J. Thayer of Divide and Conquer Music). If you enjoy stories of lost love and hopeful acceptance, you're bound to find a piece of yourself in Brasko's music.
