Aleksandar Bezinovic horvát képzőművész a Zágrábi Képzőművészeti Akadémián végzett. Művészetére az absztrakt geometrikus formanyelv jellemző, ami egyfajta vizuális kontinuitást kölcsönöz munkáinak.
Képein a különböző forgástestek ritmikus elrendezésével és ezen formák variabilitásával játszik. Annak ellenére, hogy Bezovic tudatosan kerüli a figurativitást, valamint a mélység és a lineáris perspektíva illúzióját, művei mégis nagyon atmoszférikus és meditatív tereket hoznak létre, amelyet a festő a pigmentanyagok finom rétegzésével ér el.
A most bemutatásra kerülő The Same River c. kiállítás Herakleitosz aforizmájára utal: „Senki sem léphet kétszer ugyanabba a folyóba.” Tehát minden változik és semmi sem marad önmagával azonos; minden alkalommal, amikor belépünk a folyóba, más vízzel találkozunk. A folyó hiába marad ugyanaz a földrajzi, természeti egység, a benne áramló víz, üledék és élőlények folyamatos mozgásban és kicserélődésben vannak. A „folyó” több szinten is jelentéssel is bír Bezinovic munkáiban. Az egyik a változás és a mozgás fogalma, amely kifejezetten a formák folyamatos ritmusához kapcsolódik. A végtelen térben kanyarodó alakzatok vizuálisan is utalnak a folyó belső mozgására, illetve felülnézeti képére, ahogy a szilárd föld síkot áttöri a víz organikusan kialakított útja. Ez a dichotómia párbeszédes egysége, a pozitív-negatív tér kontrasztjának játéka.
A folyó állandó változása, létezésének belső logikája és alapfeltétele, Bezinovic ugyanezt a metafórát alkalmazza az alkotói praxis természetére is: minden alkalommal, amikor a művész a vászna elé áll, egy már egy új formában találkozik művével, megváltozott hangulatban, új tapasztalatokkal, tudással, valamint más kérdésekkel és preferenciákkal tekint az addig megmunkált felületre.
Így ér össze a forma és a tartalom, a változás és állandóság mélyen egymásra utalt viszonya. Aleksandar Bezinovic 2022-es, Tokióban megrendezett Temporary Place című kiállítása óta visszatérően foglalkozik Herakleitosz folyó-metaforájával. A folyó egyszerre testesül meg a műteremben mint konkrét, térmértani egységben, az alkotó folyamatosan alakuló szellemi állapotában, valamint magukban a művekben, amelyek e dinamikus viszonyrendszerben jönnek létre, és az idő, illetve a tapasztalat hatására formálódnak.
Bezinovic absztrakt kompozíciói nem a valóságot kívánják leképezni, hanem egy autonóm képi világot ölelnek fel, amelynek egyetlen állandója maga a változás.

Aleksandar Bezinovic is a Croatian visual artist who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. His practice is defined by an abstract geometric visual language, which lends a sense of visual continuity to his artistic practice. In his paintings he explores the rhythmic arrangement and variability of rotational forms. Although Bezinovic consciously avoids figurativeness, as well as the illusion of depth and linear perspective, his compositions nevertheless create highly atmospheric and meditative spaces, achieved through the subtle layering of pigments.
The exhibition The Same River refers to Heraclitus' aphorism: “No man ever steps in the same river twice.” Everything is in flux; nothing remains identical to itself. Each time we step into the river, we encounter different water. While the river remains the same geographical and natural entity, the water, sediment, and living organisms within it are in constant motion and transformation. In Bezinović’s work, the “river” operates on multiple levels. It signifies change and motion, closely linked to the continuous rhythm and variety of forms. The curving shapes unfolding within an infinite pictorial space visually evoke both the internal movement of the river and its aerial perspective, as the organically shaped path of water cuts through the solid plane of land. This dynamic generates a dialogical unity– a play of contrasts between positive and negative space.
The river’s constant transformation is a fundamental condition of its existence. Bezinovic extends this metaphor to the nature of artistic practice itself: each time the artist returns to the canvas, he encounters the work in a new state – approaching it with a different mood, new experiences and knowledge, as well as shifting questions and preferences.
In this way, form and content converge, revealing the deeply interdependent relationship between change and permanence. Since his 2022 exhibition Temporary Place in Tokyo, Bezinovic has repeatedly returned to Heraclitus’ river metaphor. The river becomes simultaneously embodied in the studio – understood as a concrete spatial and geometric unit – in the artist’s continuously evolving mental state, and within the works themselves, which emerge from this dynamic system and are shaped over time through experience.
Bezinovic’s abstract compositions do not aim to represent reality; rather, they construct an autonomous visual realm in which the only constant element is the change itself.
