About this Event
The Glasgow Council on Alcohol has kindly agreed to facilitate a session on campus as part of the Alcohol Awareness Week for members of the GCU community.
Drinking has been described as "UK's favourite coping mechanism" with many people using it to deal with stress and poor mental health.
If you'd like to get some information on how to manage drinking to limit potential negative impacts for yourself, your friends or family members, please come along to this non-judgemental session.
The 1 hour long session will cover:
- General alcohol awareness information including physical and mental health impacts.
- Harm reduction advice – looking at ways to reduce risk whilst drinking, and the Glasgow Council on Alcohol will bring along some resources for you to take away that can help with this such as unit cups, measure pourers etc.
- Information on accessing further support if needed.
This session is open to staff and students.
