Alcohol and Drug Awareness Training for Music Venues
This training session is designed specifically for music venues, event staff, and anyone working within late night culture in Sheffield. It will focus on the basics of creating safer, more supportive environments for customers and staff. Supporting venues to feel confident in responding to safeguarding concerns, reducing risk, and promoting a positive culture of care.
Date: Thursday 12th March
Time: 3:30pm – 5.30/6:00pm (approx., depending on participant numbers)
Venue: Cubo, Carver Street, Sheffield city centre
Capacity is limited to 18 people.
Session overview
This training will cover:
- Best practice around spiking and spiking prevention
- Basic drug and alcohol awareness
- Signs of an overdose and what to look out for
- Ask for Angela / Safeword schemes (tailored to your setting)
What to expect
- The session will be interactive with opportunities for questions and discussion.
- You may wish to bring a notebook, but all essential materials will be provided.
