About this Event
Transitions, whether seasonal, personal, or professional, can make us feel ungrounded, unsettled, and unbalanced. However, just as the trees use their roots to stay grounded while their branches sway gracefully to the Autum’s wind, we can use gentle movement and slow breath to root and slow down, to ground, to rest…learning to dance elegantly with these changes.
Join me for a relaxing afternoon this Fall, during which we will tune our movement and breath to the Fall/Vata season and cultivate space for stillness, silence, and deep rest. We will also cover seasonal self-care practices that can help us stay grounded, balanced, and centred.
This 2-hour workshop is divided into practical (movement-based) & theoretical (lecture-based) parts.
The practical section includes:
Slow, grounded, gentle and meditative movement
Pranayam (breath) practice
Restorative practice
Grounding meditation
The theoretical section includes:
Overview of five elements and three doshas (constitutions) based on the Ayurvedic system
Explanation of how seasonal changes affect our body, mind, emotions and senses
Suggested Vata pacifying self-care practices, including daily and nightly routines, seasonal recipes, and embodiment (movement and breath) practices for grounding and relaxation
