Abstract: As the final lecture for our Fall semester, Albright Director Jamie Fraser will offer a lighter style of lecture reviewing the Albright’s journey over 2025. This is a lecture in which we celebrate our achievements, acknowledge the hard work of our staff, and highlight the many ways the Albright has continued to foster scholarship and community. It is also a talk that will address the challenges and uncertainties we face—locally, regionally, and internationally—and how these realities are shaping the Albright’s mission and activities, with an emphasis on the enduring value of academic exchange and collaboration. Followed by a Christmas-themed supper with mulled wine.
Bio: is Director of the W. F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research, having served previously as Curator for the Ancient Levant at the British Museum. He directs an excavation project in Jordan investigating a Bronze Age olive oil factory at Khirbet Um al-Ghozlan. His book Dolmens in the Levant was awarded the G. Ernest Wright award for best archaeological publication in 2018.
