“We Are Tired of Suffering in Silence”: Alberta’s First-Ever South Asian Social Justice Summit Calls for Justice, Dignity, and Unity
Background:
For many in Alberta’s South Asian community, struggles around workers’ rights, immigration challenges, racism, and mental health are often faced in silence. The South Asian Social Justice Summit is a powerful step toward changing that.
Hosted by the Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA), this first-ever summit in Alberta brings together community members, advocates, and leaders to raise awareness, share lived experiences, and work toward meaningful solutions. Rooted in over two years of community conversations across the province, the event creates a safe and inclusive space to amplify voices that are too often unheard.
This is more than a discussion it’s a call to action. Join us to stand for justice, dignity, and unity while building stronger, more connected communities.
The Summit will focus on:
- Workers’ Rights and Labour Protections
- Policy Change and Community Advocacy
- Access to Justice and Legal Rights
- Note: Lunch will be provided
