Myo cafe came to life in 2014. The passion-project of owner Liam Mullaney, Myo cafe was born from an intuitive process of creation, design, and community building.
When Liam first discovered the building, it was an old junk shop. Although at the time Liam had no intentions of starting a business, something about this place drew him in. Soon, through passing chats with locals, the building’s history unfolded – once a home, then a pub, a general store, a sweetshop, and finally a junk shop, for many years this wee corner house had been a central point of the local community – a place to meet and catch up and share news…Liam wondered – could it be such a place again?
And so he set about creating a space that could be a centre for community once more, welcoming those local to the area, and those from further afield! Each element of the space has been carefully designed and crafted to foster a welcoming and inspiring environment. Conscious of welcoming the growing international communities in Ireland, the cafe incorporates elements from around the world. It is a multi-denominational, culturally accepting place.
