Welcome to the Alaska Sustainable Beekeeping Conference!
Expert presenters will share the latest information on gear, methods, and research we use to keep bees alive and healthy all winter, year after year. Coffee, tea, and a buffet lunch are included.

Etienne Tardif is an internationally renowned sustainable beekeeper in the Yukon. His groundbreaking research completely changed our understanding of how colonies overwinter.
Cory Stevens is a nationally known treatment free beekeeper and queen breeder. After many years of testing and selection, his queens produce colonies with strong resistance to mite and brood diseases.
Medhat Nasr is a highly regarded apiculturist, educator, and regulator, with over 50 years of experience in both the public and the private sector.
Lisa Hay has successfully overwintered indoors and outdoors in Fairbanks since 2018. She is the Alaska Director for the Western Apicultural Society. Lisa’s articles have appeared in the American Bee journal, Bee Culture Magazine, and elsewhere.
Alex Wenninger is a local beekeeper and entomologist at the University of Alaska. She is an specialist in Alaskan honey bee pests, and recently published an article on the Beehive Honey Moth.
