About this Event
You’re invited to deepen your recovery and honor your whole well-being through the Native wellness philosophies and practices explored in THE SEVEN CIRCLES: Indigenous Teachings for Living Well. This revolutionary self-help guide is authored by wellness duo, Chelsey Luger and Thosh Collins.
In partnership with Painted Horse Recovery, Alano Club is delighted to host Thosh Collins for this one-time community workshop where together we’ll learn about ancient Indigenous health wisdoms, and how you can integrate these teachings today to tend to your spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being and recovery. Please note: this workshop will be hosted at The Recovery Gym (TRG) in Southeast Portland. TRG is a project of Alano Club of Portland.
Thosh Collins was born and raised in the Salt River Reservation in Arizona where he is now a family man, community organizer and an active participant in the community. He is a board member and senior trainer for the Native Wellness Institute and currently sits on the Land Management Board in Salt River. Thosh, along with his wife Chelsey Luger, co-founded WELL FOR CULTURE, an Indigenous wellness initiative which promotes whole life-ways through ancestral teachings to optimize contemporary Indigenous lifestyles. Follow Thosh on Instagram.
A catered lunch will be provided to all participants. We are grateful to , Portland's First Indigenous Restaurant, and Chef Alexa Numkena-Anderson, for being part of this special community event.
, a project of the Alano Club of Portland, is the Pacific Northwest’s first fitness center dedicated to helping people on the path to recovery for substance use and mental health disorders, and the first of its kind—anywhere—to merge fitness, data and mentorship to do so.
