About this Event

Four years ago, the Perinatal Equity Initiative (PEI) and Black Women Birthing Justice (BWBJ) came together with a shared vision—to grow the circle of care for Black birthing families. From that vision, six former BeLoved Birth Black Centering (BBBC) moms were trained to become Doulas, returning to support new BBBC participants and helping to nurture a legacy of community care, empowerment, and sisterhood.

What began as one powerful idea has blossomed into a movement. Together, PEI and BWBJ and First 5 Alameda County have now trained a combined 98 community members who are stepping into their purpose as birthworkers, healers, and advocates for reproductive justice across the Bay Area.

Join us as we celebrate this partnership, honor the many Doulas who have completed our trainings, and uplift the collective intention, action, and love that continues to transform birth experiences and outcomes for our communities.
