The City of Gainesville Cultural Advisory Board, in partnership with the Alachua County Arts Council, will host the fifth annual Artists Conference Friday, April 24, 2026, at the City of Gainesville's Historic Thomas Center.
Free and open to the public; registration required.
The Artists Conference serves as a professional development and community-building initiative aimed at strengthening the local arts ecosystem. The event provides artists, creatives, and arts administrators with opportunities to acquire knowledge, enhance practical skills, and establish meaningful connections that support their professional growth and long-term sustainability.

The mission of the Gainesville Cultural Advisory Board is to advise the Gainesville City Commission on matters pertaining to arts and culture, while supporting initiatives that foster artistic expression and cultural vitality throughout the community. Through the Cultural Affairs Division, the City of Gainesville is committed to cultivating a community in which the arts, heritage, and cultural expressions thrive, thereby promoting a sense of belonging, well-being, and civic pride.
In alignment with these objectives, the Alachua County Arts Council, within the Board of County Commission, seeks to improve the quality of life for county residents by increasing exposure to the arts, expanding opportunities for creative expression among local artists, and enhancing community resources that support the arts.

The Historic Thomas Center—originally established as the Thomas Center for the Arts —provides a distinguished setting for the conference. Its preserved 1920s period rooms and art galleries host numerous arts and cultural events each year, serving as a central venue for fostering Gainesville’s vibrant creative community.
