SPORTS CIRCUIT

This circuit consists of 2,500 meters of swimming, 110 kilometers of road cycling, and 36 kilometers of running.

This iconic triathlon kicks off on the morning of the 4th, where athletes will embark from Alicante’s city harbor. From there, they’ll be transported by boat into the open sea, stopping 2,500 meters from the coast of Campello, the site of the transitions.

At the sound of the ship’s horn, athletes will leap from the deck and swim to the shore of Campello. This visually stunning start promises to captivate local, national, and international spectators alike.

The first and second transitions will be set up in the Fishing Port of Campello. Here, competitors will need to move swiftly to grab their bikes and tackle the cycling segment—a grueling 110 kilometers that includes slopes with gradients of up to 13%.

The cycling course will push participants’ endurance to the limit. It features the renowned Tudons Pass, rising to 1,025 meters above sea level, and the Benifallim Pass at 1,015 meters above sea level, both legendary climbs from the Vuelta a España. These climbs will test the mettle of those taking on the Alacant Triathlon Du Monde.

Within the cycling segment, there will be a special Mountain Sprint challenge from Sella to the Tudons Pass. This stretch is 11.9 kilometers long, with a 600-meter positive elevation gain. The first to conquer the mountain pass in both the men’s and women’s categories will earn a 5-minute bonus for their overall race time, as well as the prestigious title of Tudons Alacant Sprint Winner.

The circuit is incredibly demanding, comprehensive, and breathtakingly beautiful. Only true nature lovers can fully appreciate the sweet combination of the extreme and the magnificent. With stunning landscapes that leave anyone in awe, this race is an unforgettable experience.

The municipalities of Busot, Relleu, Sella, Penáguila, Benifallim, Torremanzanas, Jijona, and El Campello will serve as hosts for the event. Each city will provide civil personnel, security teams, police, and ambulances to assist the athletes. Additionally, the organization will set up aid stations for the participants in every location.

Once the cycling segment is complete, the athletes will return to the transition point in Campello. There, they will leave their bikes behind as the Mediterranean coastal competition concludes with the final running segment.

Runners will follow the coastline toward the City of Alicante, passing through San Juan Beach, where additional security personnel and aid stations will be available to support the competitors on their way to the finish line.

The athletes will give everything they have left to conquer the summit of Santa Bárbara Castle, a place steeped in history and divine legacy. Those who reach the castle’s sacred peak will find their reward and feel as though a wish has been fulfilled.

The running circuit not only offers breathtaking views of Alicante’s paradisiacal beaches but also allows participants to immerse themselves in the cultural essence of the city.
