This 6 week course is designed to prepare you and your dog for the AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen test by building calm, reliable behavior in busy, everyday environments. We go beyond basic obedience and focus on what actually matters out in public.You’ll work on real life skills like loose leash walking through distractions, settling in public spaces, ignoring food and environmental temptations, and staying neutral around people, dogs, and noise.
This course is perfect for dogs who already have a foundation in basic obedience or CGC and are ready for the next level.
Important: Dogs must have their CGC title in order to test for the Urban CGC. Dogs are still welcome to join the course for training even if you are not planning to test.
What to expect:
• Weekly structured training sessions
• Real world scenarios in downtown Johnson City
• Small group coaching for individualized support
• Guidance to help you feel confident going into the test
By the end of the course, you’ll have a dog you can confidently take out in public and the skills needed to pass the Urban CGC test.
