AJC’s Ohanami Picnic & Potluck is a special outdoor edition of our monthly meetup during Central Texas’s beautiful wildflower season.
This will be our third annual picnic, and it’s a relaxed way to enjoy good food, friendly conversation, and the spring weather together.
Who This Event Is For
Everyone is welcome! This picnic may be especially enjoyable for those who:
• Want to meet people in the Japanese / Japan-interested community in Austin
• Enjoy potluck gatherings and sharing food
• Like relaxed outdoor social events
• Are interested in Japanese culture and cultural exchange
• Are looking for a friendly and family-friendly community gathering
Families, children, and first-time attendees are all welcome.
What You Can Expect
• A relaxed outdoor picnic atmosphere
• A potluck lunch where everyone shares food
• AJC will provide water
• Friendly conversations and community connections
• A couple of light icebreaker games to help people mingle
Potluck
This is a potluck-style lunch. Homemade or store-bought items are both welcome. When you register, please sign up for the item you plan to bring so we can have a good variety of food.
Schedule (Tentative)
11:00 AM – Arrival and potluck setup
11:15 AM – Lunch and casual conversation
12:00 PM – Icebreaker games and mingling
After 1:00 PM – Free time to relax and socialize

Many participants will be meeting each other for the first time.
