About this Event
Hidden within the ancient caves of Ajanta are paintings that have watched centuries pass in silence. But what if those stories could move again?
Ajanta is a mesmerizing dance theatre production inspired by the legendary murals of the Ajanta caves in India. Through the expressive language of Bharatanatyam, the production reimagines the world within those walls — where gods, royalty, and timeless human emotions are captured in color and stone.
The journey begins with a traveler who steps into the caves, drawn by curiosity. As he wanders deeper, something extraordinary begins to unfold. The painted figures seem to stir… stories begin to surface… and the boundary between past and present slowly disappears.
Through intricate footwork, powerful ensemble choreography, and expressive storytelling, the dancers transform ancient paintings into living moments on stage.
Ajanta invites audiences to step into a world where art, history, and imagination meet — and where the past may not be as silent as it seems.
