Important Event Details: AIMS & Sunset Beaches – A Family Beach Adventure HikeJoin us for a scenic and adventurous half-day hike to the stunning AIMS and Sunset Beaches – a perfect outing for families who love nature and a bit of off-the-beaten-path exploration. This 5–6 km round trip offers a mix of gentle trail walking and light bush bashing, making it a fun and engaging experience for both adults and kids. While the track has been in good condition lately, it still holds a few rugged surprises that add to the excitement!
The beaches themselves are the true highlight – with sweeping coastal views, soft sands, and plenty of space to relax, explore, and soak in the beauty of the area. Sunset Beach, in particular, lives up to its name with breathtaking views that make for a perfect picnic or photo spot.
Please note: this hike is not suitable for prams. Children will need to be carried in appropriate hiking carriers, and we recommend this event for families with kids who are comfortable being outdoors for a few hours. Bring plenty of water, snacks, sun protection, and a sense of adventure!

The hike will involve some ON TRAIL and BEACH hiking
The total DISTANCE of this event will be ~5km
The TIME this event will take depends on group dynamics, however we estimate ~3/4 hours at a slow pace with breaks and allowing everyone to explore the area.
The GROUP SIZE of this event will be ~15.

We will MEET at the Annandale Central Shopping Centre (KFC Carpark) Paluma (75-91 MacArthur Dr, Annandale QLD 4814) at 8am sharp for a pre-hike/safety briefing and to organise carpooling.
Please BE ON TIME and considerate of your fellow attendees by changing your RSVP if you cannot attend.
Please be open to CARPOOLING to reduce our environmental impact and traffic on the road.
