AIGA AZ Movie Night: Screening + Q&A with Julian Curi
Join us for a special screening of GRUFF, a handmade paper short film written, directed, designed, and animated by Julian Curi.
GRUFF follows a globe-trotting super spy seeking her gruff father’s approval, only to learn that love isn’t always expressed the same way. Created over three years using paper puppets and sets, this heartfelt film explores quiet love, loss, and connection.
From the director:
“I believe we all have individuals in our lives, related or not, that pride themselves as the “strong silent types”. Through this short film, I hope all of us can learn to empathize, connect, and more deeply love those who have so much more to say than we think, and just need us to listen.”
Julian will introduce the film, share his creative process, and host a live Q&A via Zoom after the screening.
