- Explanation of how various synthetic surfacing systems are constructed to suit the safety, drainage, durability, and aesthetic needs of specific applications.
- Utilization of the functional (impact attenuation and ADA compliance), and performance (heat reflection, fire resistance, antistatic, antimicrobial), properties of synthetic surfacing to develop safe, clean, and accessible areas for outdoor activities.
- Specify synthetic turf to eliminate the use of pesticides and fertilizers, reduce water consumption and stormwater runoff, control site drainage, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
- Explain the use of resources and design properties of synthetic surfacing materials related to color, texture, and shape to create unique, visually striking, and realistic installations for public, residential, and commercial applications.
