About this Event

What happens when the songs artists spend years creating are used to train A.I. systems — without consent, compensation, or protection?

Currently, no legislation exists to protect songwriters from having their music exploited by these predatory practices.

On May 19, the Music Workers Alliance and partners will host a series of protests in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Austin to demand fair treatment, ethical standards, and stronger protections for artists in the era of Generative A.I. Austin Texas Musicians (ATXM)is leading the protest in Austin.

We invite you to join us at the Far Out Lounge for a panel discussion with local artists, technologists, educators, venue owners, and advocates to discuss the dangers of Generative A.I. training models, including:

  • How Generative A.I. impacts musicians and creators
  • The risks surrounding intellectual property and consent
  • Ethical concerns around A.I. training data
  • What musicians can do now to protect themselves
  • How communities can organize for stronger protections and fair representation
