About this Event

AI Skills for Professionals

Scotland’s AI Strategy 2026–2031 is clear: the country needs an AI-confident workforce across every sector. That means wider AI literacy, accessible learning opportunities, and responsible adoption led by people who understand both the value AI can create and the risks that come with it.

This workshop is designed as a direct response to that need.

AI Skills for Professionals is a full-day, in-person workshop for leaders, managers, and professionals who want to build practical AI capability, not just awareness. The focus is on real-world application: understanding what AI can do, where it fits into professional workflows, and how to use it responsibly.

No coding. No product pitches. No empty hype.

What you’ll learn

During the day, you will explore:

  • how AI works today and how the field is evolving
  • how to use AI effectively in everyday professional workflows
  • how to decide which tasks can be delegated to AI, including AI agents
  • how to distinguish between work AI can support well and work that still depends on human judgment
  • how to make responsible decisions in an AI-assisted environment, including governance, ethics, accountability, and risk

Who this is for

This workshop is built for professionals, managers, and leaders across any sector who are expected to engage with AI but do not have a technical background.

If you lead people, manage work, make decisions, or want to understand how AI should fit into your role, this workshop is for you.

What’s included
  • Welcome tea and coffee
  • Morning and afternoon coffee breaks
  • Sit-down lunch at the Custom House Restaurant, Clayton Hotel
  • Certificate of completion from a UK Register of Learning Providers accredited organisation
  • Access to a private community channel for ongoing discussion and connection
  • A 1:1 online guidance session with Patty O’Callaghan after the event to help you apply what you learned in your own role

Why we keep it small

Places are limited to 20 participants.

That is intentional. A smaller group allows for meaningful discussion, practical questions, and personalised guidance. Rather than a one-size-fits-all presentation, this is a focused, hands-on learning experience built around real challenges and real work.
