About this Event
About this event
Threat actors are increasingly using artificial intelligence (AI) to commit online fraud by enhancing the scale, precision, and effectiveness of their attacks. This includes the use of deepfake images and audio to mimic real people and defraud victims. The growing scale and sophistication of these attacks creates a need for an equally innovative and unified response from those looking to defend and secure themselves from attack. Emerging technologies such as AI have a key role to play in protecting businesses and cutomers, and cross-sector collaboration can help to bring vital solutions to market more quickly.
Following two Cyber innovation Challenges, The City of London Corporation partnered with Microsoft to deliver an AI Innovation Challenge to provide a unique opportunity for collaboration to address a security priority for financial services using innovative tech solutions.
This year’s Challenge welcomed ten innovative technology firms and eight leading financial services firms to explore how AI can prevent online fraud at the earliest possible stage by identifying and tracking fake identities such as synthetic identities and image or audio deepfakes.
The Challenge has benefited from the input of Supporting Partners Microsoft, London and Partners, NayaOne and the Department for Business and Trade. This Showcase event is aimed at those working in financial and professional services and beyond with an interest in AI, cyber security, or innovation and will focus on three areas:
Providing a deep dive into the issue at the heart of the Challenge.
Presenting some broader ideas and the specific solutions from the Challenge which seek to address this issue.
Sharing learnings from delivery of the Challenge and the role of collaboration in supporting innovation in the financial services sector.
