Professor Fiona Gilbert is an academic radiologist at the University of Cambridge and an internationally recognised leader in breast cancer imaging and artificial intelligence. Her ground breaking research on computer-aided detection established the foundation for current innovations integrating AI with advanced imaging techniques such as breast MRI and tomosynthesis. She drives interdisciplinary collaboration, fostering strategic academic and industry partnerships that accelerate the translation of AI technology into improved patient care. Fiona’s contributions have been recognised through prestigious awards and leadership roles, including her tenure as President of the European Society of Breast Imaging and as Lead Advisor for AI at the Royal College of Radiologists.

Dr Christopher Kelly is a Paediatrician and AI researcher at Microsoft, formerly at DeepMind. Dr. Kelly has developed award-winning AI tools for healthcare and champions the need for rigorous evaluation of AI technologies. After training as a paediatrician and completing his PhD in neonatal brain development at St Thomas’ Hospital, he joined DeepMind in 2018. He has since been involved in research across a broad spectrum of medical imaging AI, and most recently exploring applications of generative AI in healthcare. He created the award-winning neonatal intensive care app “NeoMate”, and founded two technology startups that were both subsequently acquired. Chris is passionate about the potential for AI to improve healthcare broadly, while also being a strong advocate for a rigorous approach to evaluation and deployment.
