The Moment We’re In

Artificial Intelligence is reshaping every industry — from food and energy to health, media, and commerce. The communities most impacted by this shift are the same ones historically left out of building it. iUrban Teen exists to change that. The AI for Good Challenge is a flagship inaugural event: a full-day, hands-on competition where over 100 high school students from under-resourced communities across the Seattle region come together to imagine, design, and pitch AI-powered solutions to real problems — guided by mentors, trainers, and community leaders who believe young people are our hope and future.

What Students Will Do

Students self-select into one of five Transition Tracks — key sectors of our economy that are ripe for regenerative transformation. Working in teams of 5–7 with a dedicated mentor, they identify a real problem, design an AI-powered solution, and present their work before judges, peers, and community leaders. Every student leaves with new skills, real connections, and a story to tell.

The Five Transition Tracks:

1. Regenerative Food & Energy

2. Better Buildings, Meaningful Making & Materials

3. Conscious Commerce & Connection

4. Well-Being & Development

5. Culture, Media & Narrative Power

The Impact

- Over 100 students gain real, hands-on AI experience in a single day

- Under-resourced youth see themselves as builders, entrepreneurs, and innovators

- Students are connected to career pathways, higher education, and professional networks

- Community founders, leaders, and organizations engage directly with the next generation of talent

- Every participant — student, mentor, or volunteer — contributes to a more equitable future for AI
