About this Event
Overview
In the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence (AI), cross-sector collaboration and knowledge sharing are crucial for realizing the full potential of this transformative technology. This half-day event, held on the margins of the UN General Assembly, aims to break down silos between industries and sectors by showcasing practical applications of AI across a range of fields. By convening this diverse group of stakeholders and sharing practical AI applications across seemingly unrelated sectors, we aim to catalyze new ideas, collaborations, and approaches to harnessing AI for good. Presenters will share concrete case studies, highlighting current uses of AI and exploring opportunities for future growth. Following each set of presentations, a facilitated Q&A session will encourage cross-sector dialogue and idea exchange.
Focus Topics
The event will explore AI applications primarily across humanitarian action, disaster response, civic engagement, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution, but will also feature stakeholders across finance, healthcare, and logistics to get participants thinking creatively about cross-sector applications.
You'll hear insights from experts across a range of companies and organizations including NYU's GovLab, American Red Cross, Microsoft, OpenAI, iVerify, Human Rights First, Crowdbotics, Johns Hopkins Hospital, UN Women, and others.
