Celebrate the long history of farming in Rhode Island and the arrival of fall. See antique tractors (early 20th century), enjoy a hayride, go on a goat walk with Karla Simmons (Simmons Goat Farm), and more farm fun. Play some games like hay rolling, 2-person saw competition, and burlap sack races. Stroll through the gardens and assist in harvesting our fall crops. Learn about how to preserve foods to keep for the long New England winters. Vote for your favorite ridiculously large garden vegetable and flower arrangements on display. Chat with representatives from and see their demonstration beehive. Bird Haven Ranch will also be at the farm offering pony rides from 10:00 a.m. to noon for an additional cost. Finish the day with some painting lessons using the farm animals for inspiration.
Agricultural Day at the Farm is included with standard daytime admission ($10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 4-17) or with Coggeshall Farm Museum membership or Old Sturbridge Village membership.
