A "think-tank" debate for Business Leaders of Life Science to discuss what is working well and what are the challenges in the NW Ecosystem
About this Event
  • Are you a leader, or aspiring leader, of an emerging biotech or health innovation company ?
  • Are you interested in meeting with peers to discuss and debate common challenges and spark your creativity?
  • Are you interested in debating with your peers the pros and cons of locating in the NW of England for Life Sciences
  • If your answer is yes to these questions, then this Agile Leaders Forum is for you!

Is the NW of England a good area to run a Life Science Business? What are the pros and cons from doing so? How can the area improve for life sciences? What does the current NW Life Sciences ecosystem look like? What is funding like in the region? What is the infra structure like? What success stories have their been? What is the future looking like? What can be done better? Are there actions the group can take to take on common challenges?

How you will benefit from attending?

As a Business Leader, you will benefit from this "Agile" workshop by sharing common challenges and building deeper connections and trust with your peers. In turn, the aim is to build your confidence when working in areas normally outside your comfort zone, by learning and having discussions with this / your "Agile" peer network. You can speak to people in a similar position about issues you may not have the opportunity to discuss elsewhere. You can discuss your challenges with a view of learning from other people's experiences to help you find a solution or spark an idea. Why let leaders of emerging companies reinvent the wheel to be successful when we can learn from the experiences of others who have faced similar challenges before?

Chatham House Rules apply - "what goes on in the workshop, stays in the workshop - so to speak!" We are planning to write up some of the interesting features of the discussion but won't attribute anyone's comment or view so they can be identified. This is so we feel we can a free and open discussion without the worry about being quoted somewhere.

Our mission is to help you build your innovation-enabled healthcare business so it is "fit for purpose," truly innovative and attractive to the global markets. Helping you build solid trustworthy networks with your peer group, and help spread your creative R&D business network nationally and internationally. Our motivation and focus is on helping you build long-term trustworthy business relationships and support you on your journey through our supportive business community.

This workshop is facilitated by Prof Tony Sedgwick, the self-professed www.ThoughtDisruptor.com. Tony has an esteemed career in life sciences in academia and in business, he is a trained pathologist. His accolades include once being the Global Head of Clinical Trials at Roche AG, and he has also been CEO of four life science companies, Chairman of over 10 Companies, and many positions within the academic community. He is also an active psychologist which is helping him develop his "Agile" community group development passion and is a Jiu-Jitsu Grand Master V. Last year Tony published the book "The Mighty Advisor" which was a number 1 best seller in the STEM Business Management category.

We will start this Agile Leaders Workshop on Thursday 28 November from a 1.00 pm arrival (with a prompt 1.30 pm discussion start). Our boardroom venue and sponsorship has kindly been provided by Mills & Reeve who are lawyers from one of the largest full-service life science practices in the UK.

For this event, we are limiting it to a maximum of 14 Life Science Leaders only, along with a few special guests who will add plenty of colour to our conversations. As such, we recommend you book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

This Agile Leaders Forum will be attracting a few of the more established life science experts to be on this "self-help community" workshop joined by the fresh thinking "up and coming" future business leaders. Does this describe you? If so, we would like you to attend, so sign up now as spaces are VERY limited. Feel free to write to me at [email protected] for more details.

The "Agile" workshop finishes at 17.00, at which time you will be invited to a special edition of the #biotechbuddies networking event which is in the Bright House venue just a few minutes walk away from this venue. The evening will go on from 18.00 to 21.30 with delicious finger foods, drinks and relationship building networking (if you would like that). Biotech Buddies has been running for 10 years and is a social / business networking meet-up from all areas of the health innovation community. We are expecting 50-60 life science professionals to be attending. Their will also be two panel discussions between 6.30-8 pm at this event to further explore the Life Science Ecosystem in the NW of England. Based on feedback from our community, this will be well attended by other C-level leaders, investors, experienced consultants and service providers. A seperate ticket is required for this evening event which is also avaiable on Eventbrite.

Our promise to you is our Agile Leaders Forum will be like no other business workshop you have experienced. You will be walking out of the session inspired, educated and more connected.
