CALL FOR PAPERS
We live in the era of LLMs branded as AGI, but beneath the branding lies an unresolved debate:
What does it really mean to understand?
Can predictive text engines like GPT or DeepSeek achieve true general intelligence, or are they simply high-dimensional echo chambers? Is the path to AGI through scaling parameters—or simulating perception, memory, affect, and volition?
Can we truly talk about intelligence without consciousness, emotion, or embodied experience?
Will neuromorphic chips help us go beyond statistical mimicry? What would John Searle’s Chinese Room say about ChatGPT? What would Penrose think of transformer models without collapse into quantum awareness?
Will the Barcelona Supercomputing Center run the first full brain simulation? Are we building useful tools—or birthing posthuman entities? Is AGI a function of data, neurons—or will?
We invite submissions across five critical tracks:
- Neuroscience x AGI
- Brain-inspired architectures
- Whole brain emulation
- Spatial cognition and memory encoding
- Embodiment in synthetic agents
- Brain-inspired architectures
- AI Ethics, Safety & Policy
- Alignment and interpretability
- Law, governance, and AGI regulation
- Moral agency and machine accountability
- Alignment and interpretability
- Philosophy of AGI
- Chinese Room, Gödel’s incompleteness, Penrose-Hameroff
- Consciousness, free will, intentionality
- AGI as personhood
- Industry & AGI Systems
LLMs, multi-modal agents, and where they fall short - Neuromorphic hardware, cognitive robotics
