Have you ever wondered who’s singing outside your window or soaring above the trees? Join us at the library for Birding 101, a fun and beginner-friendly introduction to the wonderful world of birds for all ages!Learn how to spot common local birds, practice using binoculars, and discover simple tips for identifying birds by their colors, shapes, and songs. Whether you’re a curious kid, a nature-loving adult, or a family looking for a new hobby to enjoy together, this program is a great way to start exploring the world right outside your door.
No experience is needed – just bring your curiosity and love of nature! Please bring your own binoculars if you have them. If you’re able, you’ll find it helpful to download Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s free eBird (checklist keeper) and/or Merlin (bird ID) apps to your smart phone prior to the event. Make sure to download the northeast US bird pack from the apps’ settings menus.
