Age of Audio Screening + Local Podcaster Panel at the Historic Texas Theater!
The documentary Age of Audio, directed by Shaun Michael Colón and co-produced with Substance, acTVe, and XTR, will screen at the Texas Theatre on April 12 at 6 p.m.
Age of Audio, which premiered at the Oak Cliff Film Festival, has also screened at Podcast Movement, Resonate Podcast Conference, and Podfest Expo, with an upcoming screening at the Lake County Film Fest.
The film explores the history of podcasting and follows Ronald Young Jr. It features interviews with Ira Glass, Marc Maron, Kevin Smith, Roman Mars, Jad Abumrad, Kara Swisher, Audrey Mardovich, and more.
Director Shaun Michael Colón said, “Texas Theatre has always championed independent film and creators, and has hosted some of the coolest live podcast events in Dallas-Fort Worth. We’re very excited to be here, engaging our local community in a conversation about podcasting.”
Local ties are strong, Colón is Dallas-based, and local cinematographer Joel Herrera worked on the film. Post-production was completed in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and the Kevin Smith interview was filmed at the Texas Theatre.
A panel discussion about film podcasting will follow the screening, featuring Andrew Sherman (Dallas Famous), Rebecca “The Film Festival Doctor” Louisa Smith (The Film Festival Doctor Podcast), and Chris Collins (There Are Too Many Movies). Austin Zook, local journalist, hosts, with Colón joining for Q&A.
