The Whirl Winds present “Sounds of a Nova Scotia Summer”, a musical tribute to the natural beauty and vibrant cultural life of our province. Drop by the Tea Room and enjoy an afternoon of music.The Whirl Winds are Patricia Madden and Alison Roe Smith. Patricia has been playing clarinet since grade 9, well over 50 years. She taught music in Newfoundland (and Labrador!) in the ‘80s. Pat retired a few years ago after a long and mostly enjoyable time spent in HRCE junior and senior high school libraries. She is currently a member of The Glass Winds - Nova Scotia Women’s Wind Ensemble, the Halifax Concert Band and the ClariNova Quartet.
Alison is a retired local music educator who has participated in many choral and instrumental groups. In the past, she has played flute with the Army Reserve Band, the Chebucto Symphony Orchestra and the Dartmouth Concert Band. Currently she enjoys playing flute in small ensembles and with the Metro Jazz Band.
